12/28/2023 0 Comments For mac download Music Tag Editor ProIf you're looking for a tagger, buy this app. When you see how clunky and ugly the Windows version is you'll realize what a big accomplishment he has has achieved with the polish of the Mac app.įlorian also a great community on the app's forums (where he is very active too) that have helped me resolve every eccentric music tagging and sorting need that I have had (which are MANY). Best of all, he did a really great job making this a native Mac app and that looks and works like the standard conventions of macOS applications. He is frequently adding new features that bring this closer to parity with the Windows version, and even a few that are unique to the Mac version. Florian is an indie developer and he is an incredibly nice guy and is very responsive to feedback, support questions, and feature requests. I have used MP3Tag on Windows since it's inception, and purchased it eagerly when it was released for macOS. But that is not a reason to not buy this app if you need fine-grained control over tags in a large library. I docked this one star only because I find some of the UI to be un-intuitive and take notes to remind myself how to do certain tasks. But there is little to no functionality that I have found missing so far now that I have spent some time learning the app. I had the assumption that it lacked most of the features I wanted, like advanced batch editing, broad tag support, appending, substring replace, regex, etc. By just opening and clicking around the app, without digging into the documentation, I had a very surface level understaing of how deep this program was. Now if you are on the fence like I was, when I first downloaded the trial, here's what I would say. Particularly since I still buy vinyl, but rip it so I can listen to it when I'm not at my turntables. This app was the missing piece, and fits perfectly into my flow. I'm a Deejay and its an ongoing process to develop a low-maintenance system for organizing a large and diverse collection, and most importantly, one that maximizes creativity and minimized management. But first, the reasons why I now use this app daily. If you are on the fence like I was, I'll get into that below. #10 in Music?! Whoot Whoot!ĪFTER YEARS OF LOOKING THE TAGGER I ALWAYS WANTED Thank you Florian for your years of dedication and Congratulations on your success on the Appstore. You will not go wroong with this utility. Florian is a very accomplished app designer and developer. The UI is his classic interface that I've been using for years, it is remarkably fast (even with granting permissions), it is easy, it just works and works GREAT. i'm such a dork, you wouldn't believe my excitement when I saw it finally has come to MacOS-and in true Florian form, it comes at a GREAT price so it's accessible for all (he did the WIndows version free for years with just askiing for donations.which I did several times). There is no better app than this for a music library, I have searched every few months for about eight years now to see if it had been released for Mac. I'm a working DJ, and I obsess over the formatting of the names of my music files and keeping TAG info correct. And it has always, always, always been the best. That's right, while the MacOS version is new, I've been using MP3TAG for at least two decades. Support for many file types under a universal user interface. Applying action groups with many tasks combined into reusable workflows. Support for Flexible Tagging, allowing for user-defined tag fields in a standardized way. Importing metadata from online Tag Sources. Assign track and disc numbers via the auto-numbering wizard. Bulk-Editing of Tags for multiple files at once. Examples are formatting tag fields, performing case conversion, removing unwanted fields, or adjusting embedded cover art to match required sizes. Since some of the tasks in managing a digital library are repetitive, Mp3tag allows for combining tasks into action groups, which serve as workflows for keeping consistency and order. It offers renaming files based on the tag information, replacing characters or words in tags and filenames, importing tag information, and adjusting the size and image format of embedded cover art. It supports batch tag-editing for multiple files at once, covering many audio formats from MP3, over MP4, and M4V (yes, that's video!) to FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIF, DSF, MPC, and WAV.įurthermore, it supports online database lookups from Discogs and MusicBrainz, allowing to gather proper tags and download cover art for music libraries. Musicians, DJs, podcasters, and audio-enthusiasts use it for many different aspects of handling audio files. Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files.
